Film photography has returned to weddings for good reason. The colours are softer, the highlights roll off more gracefully, and the slower pace forces the photographer to be deliberate. Every frame costs something, so each press of the shutter is a decision.

Digital photography, on the other hand, is reliable and flexible. It handles low light better, allows instant review, and gives us the safety net needed for fast-moving moments like the entrance or the first dance.

Most of our couples choose a hybrid approach. We shoot digital for the documentary moments — the ceremony, the speeches, the dancing — and film for the portraits, details, and quiet interludes. The two formats sit beautifully together: digital gives you the full story, film gives you the feeling.

If you are deciding between them, ask yourself what matters more. If you want every moment captured with certainty, lean digital. If you want a smaller, more curated set of images with a distinct texture, lean film. Either way, the photographer's eye matters far more than the camera.
